Nutrition

strawberryMeals are prepared according to strict nutritional guidelines approved by the State Board of Health and meet all Recommended Daily Allowances. Food cannot be brought from home (except for medical or religious diet restrictions).

The child will be served what is listed on the menu. Abacus Early Learning Centers serve breakfast, lunch, and two snacks throughout the day. There are no additional charges for meals and snacks.

For diet restrictions and diet changes, the center must have a written physician’s statement which must include a MEDICAL REASON for diet changes and parents are expected to supply food for their child. Parents must also sign a Safe Food Transport Sheet.

Abacus Early Learning Centers’ menus are based on a four week cycle. Lunch is almost always a hot meal and milk is served for breakfast, lunch, and one snack. We serve juice that is 100 % fortified with Vitamin C once a day.
