Hi, and welcome to AbacusKids.com!

My name is Debby Rowan and I am the Director of Abacus Fort Wayne.

With a BA in Communications from the University of Washington, I worked as a reporter for five years
before transitioning into technical and business communications.

I spent much time volunteering at my children’s schools and child cares, and enjoyed this so much that
I accepted an administrative / public relations position at a private preschool in Boston.  

When we moved to Fort Wayne, I became Assistant Director at Abacus and earned my CDA, and then
became Director in January 2002.  I enjoy networking with other directors and owners through the IALCCC,
sharing support and information.  I am also a member of the state’s Licensed Center Advisory Board.
